Realkalisation is carried out by applying a safe electric current between the reinforcement in the concrete and a temporary,externally mounted anode mesh. During treatment, analkaline electrolyte solution is transported into the concreteby a process of electro-osmosis, increasing the alkalinity of the cover zone.
